Christopher W. Baile, Architect
Christopher, a licensed architect in the state of California, has been with S^A since 2015 after completing his Master of Architecture at the California College of the Arts, where he has since served as a guest instructor and juror for graduate architecture studios. His thesis work –Raum-Fiction– focused on architectural representation as a lingua franca between those in –and out of– the know. Christopher is originally from Indianapolis and holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Ball State University, where he was a fellow at the Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts and an employee of the Institute for Digital Fabrication.
In addition to his prior experience with mixed-use residential projects, digital fabrication, and prototyping, Christopher’s interests in architectural theory and the politics of aesthetics and image-making have supported his focus on the representation, media, and publication arm of our practice. Since becoming an Associate Principal in 2020 and part owner in 2021, Christopher has taken over the leadership of our studio Culture of Design (COD) workshops and is often involved early in the concept development of our work. His work has been exhibited in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Christopher lives in SOMA; his canine contribution to the studio is Santo, the Husky.
